The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on May 11 afternoon issued an “urgent” evacuation warning to the three Houthi-controlled ports in the western Yemeni province of al-Hodeidah.
In a post on the X social network, the military’s Arabic-language spokesman Colonel Avichay Adraee warned those at the Ras Isa, al-Hodeidah, and Salif ports on the western coast to evacuate.
“Due to the Houthi terror regime’s use of ports for its terror activities, we urge all those present at these ports to evacuate and stay away from them for your own safety until further notice,” he said.
Following the warning, Reuters reported, citing the Houthi interior ministry, that Israel targeted al-Hodeidah port. However, Hebrew media said that no strikes had been carried out. Houthi-run media in Yemen also didn’t report any attack by Israel or any other side on the port.
The warning came after the Houthis on May 9 launched a ballistic missile and two suicide drones at targets in Israel, including Ben Gurion Airport in the center of the country. The IDF said that the missile was intercepted by its air defenses. The drones, on the other hand, have apparently failed to reach Israel.
At the time, Defense Minister Israel Katz warned that Israel would respond “strongly” against the Houthis “in Yemen and anywhere else necessary.”
On May 4, a missile launched by the Houthis hit Ben Guiron. The attack wounded six people and forced several airlines to suspend flights to Israel. The group later said that it would impose a “comprehensive air blockade” on the country until the war on the Gaza Strip is over.
In response, the IDF launched two waves of strikes against Yemen, targeting the western province of al-Hodeidah and the capital Sanaa on May 5 and 6 respectively.
As the two sides were exchanging strikes, the U.S. announced the end of the large-scale operation it launched against the Houthis. President Donald Trump, who ordered the operation in mid-March, said that a ceasefire agreement was reached with the group.
The U.S. surprise move left Israel on its own in the face of the Houthis. The IDF inability to launch strikes against Yemen’s Red Sea port right after issuing its warning on May 11 highlights some of the difficulties the military will face in this long-range confrontation.

dumb little yids scare nobody, especially yemenis
i wish that the houthis would return every idf attack in kind and render israeli ports out of service. they deserve it for all their crimes against humanity in gaza. destroying israels ports is an effective way to reduce their military capabilities for a good while and stop the azerbaijan oil and us weapons from comming in
it’s puzzling why the hezbollah didn’t manage to seriously target this port of haifa, when they had the window of opportunity to do it.
it seems to me the lack of dedication compared to the west and isreal. there is a reason a western country was the only one to ever use nukes in a war. the west will use whatever it has and take any advantage they can get and will see this as a sign of their superiority. others seem to see such options as bargaining chips or deterrent or want just to use it in a limited way to scare others off.
evacuate kiev to avoid cocaine smokers weekend trip to plan nonsense.
i’m more interested in how many dead idf members the israelis actually have, because the idf is now mobilizing new members in the favelas of rio de janeiro and new delhi?
just like with any elites why would they care for the sons of peasants no matter if the peasantas are ukrainian or isreali.
the war-mongering yids better think about saving all the bombs, missiles and whatever else they have for attacking iran. they’re going to need them. just kidding, those bombs and whatever else they send will never get there. mostly because they will launch far, far away since they’re cowards, like they did the last time. their ‘special new weapon’, air launched missiles, were so effective the iranians are still laughing. no fear, trump will still go for it, ignore the lies.
israel has big balls to think they a right to order yemen to do anything . but issuing big balls propaganda have little to do with reality . it is like demanding all worldly males to do 10 push ups for israel by friday .
if isreal would demand it i guess a huge junk or north americans and europeans and even some people in other regions would gladly do it.
zionist isreali genocidal maniacs
that’s right, get the non zionists to tell the zionist isreali genocidal maniacs to abandon gaza, televiv and west bank before these parasites liquidation.
blow it through your ass, jew.
these people have you lot on tap now and any media bamboozling and lying obfuscation count for nothing.
they simply set a match to your never ending flatulence.
